Verse 9 You drive the women of my people from their pleasant homes, you take away my blessing from their children forever. Get up, go away! But this is not your resting place, because it is defiled, it is ruined, beyond all remedy. I have a few things to say about this because I have experienced it: 1- Don't be quick to make assumptions. 2- Don't be the one to partake in driving women and children away from their home. 3- I personally don't have to get revenge, but God will.

Verse 9 Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me- put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you. Of course first accept Jesus died for our sins, was buried, and rose. Then do what He says. If we really made Jesus or Savior and Lord then there won't be a big issue of obeying Him. We know we GET TO partake in growing in the Gospel and suffering in Christ. It is an honor to have relationship with God.

Verse 3 Look! The LORD is coming from his dwelling place; he comes down and treads the high places of the earth. He will say enough. He will take all the high places where idolatry is down. Watch and see.

Verse 9 Who knows? God may yet relent and with compassion turn from his fierce anger so that we will not perish. The people of Nineveh listened to what God said and in return God had compassion on them instead of going through with the judgement.

Verse 7 When my life was ebbing away, I remembered you, LORD, and my prayer rose to you, to your holy temple. When we disobey and need to be still and say sorry to Jesus for what we did and don't do that again. It can get worse if we do keep continuing in sin. We will miss out on God's grace. Be still, pray, listen to Him through Bible reading.

Verse 12 "Pick me up and throw me into the sea," he replied, "and it will become calm. I know that it is my fault that this great storm has come upon you." It is always best to take responsibility of the wrong. Jonah did the right thing and told them the truth on how he was in sin against God. He disobeyed God. When someone is in bondage to sin, we need to throw them out of the boat too. Get away from them. They are very dangerous. I'm not sure why Jonah didn't just jump out.

Verse 12,13 Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed- not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence- continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose. Don't just stop in the wilderness and say I'm saved and I don't have to grow; I can stay like this. Stay in the Word daily and obey. A baby doesn't drink milk in a bottle the rest of his life. Verse 28 without being frightened in any way by those who oppose you. This is a sign to them that they will be destroyed, but that you will be saved- and that by God. When we share the Good News correctly, life will not be easy. There will be someone always trying to make people see their glory and more ways to salvation. God says stand firm and He will take care of them.

Verse 12 You should not look down on your brother in the day of his misfortune, nor rejoice over the people of Judah in the day of their destruction, nor boast so much in the day of their trouble. Verse 15 The day of the LORD is near for all nations. As you have done, it will be done to you; your deeds will return upon your own head. Don't laugh when someone is hurting. I wish pain on no one. Verse 14 Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision! For the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision. It's a place where one waits for judgement to be executed by God. The decision has already been made. Don't allow ourselves to keep sinning, but say sorry to Jesus and stop, so we don't have to end up with bad consequences in this life or eternally separated from God. Accept Jesus as Savior and LORD.

Verse 12 "even now," declares the LORD, return to me with all your heart, with fasting and weeping and mourning."Rend your heart and not your garments. Return to the LORD your God, for he is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding and love, and he relents from sending calamity. Even if the chastening has to happen, return to God before. Who knows maybe He will change His mind. It reminds me of the similar idea to praise God before, during, and after a trial.

Verse 14 Declare a holy fast; call a sacred assembly. Summon the elders and all who live in the land to the house of the LORD your God, and cry out to the LORD. It's about to get real bad. We know what will happen soon. The days are getting worse. We are to pray for our country and people close to us.

Verse 7 Men will dwell again in his shade. He will flourish like the grain. He will blossom like a vine, and his fame will be like the wine from Lebanon. When we get in fellowship with God and obey Him, then we can be of use in the world to others. They can find rest with us because they see Jesus. Life will get beautiful again.

Verse 4 "But I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of Egypt. You shall acknowledge no God but me, no Savior except me. Who do I run to for help? I need to run to God. He takes care of me and I need to wait patiently for Him as He works everything out. I need to stay busy serving Him too in little things and what He brings my way. I need to not get distracted by the cares of this life. I sing praises to Him and meditate on His Word day and night.

It's not fun to read about people being in trouble all the time. It is not fun being the cause of the trouble in others lives and it is not fun to be connected with trouble and getting their fruit on me.

Verse 8 The high places of the wickedness will be destroyed- it is the sin of Israel. We are supposed to make the altar simple. It isn't supposed to be fancy. It's supposed to be clear. Verse 15 Because of all their wickedness in Gilgal, I hated them there. Because of their sinful deeds, I will drive them out of my house. I will no longer love them; all their leaders are rebellious. The point of reading through our Bibles is to not let ourselves get to this point ever. When we backslide, we are asking for unnecessary trouble.
