Verse 13   That each of them may eat and drink, and find satisfaction in all their toil—this is the gift of God. Life has ups and downs, but if I am not honoring God then I missed the point of life. I need to trust and obey Him first. If others aren't and are just enjoying life without His leading, I need to walk away and focus on Him alone. He comes first. It isn't about the things I do, it is about glorifying Him with those things. It is easy to get caught up in life and fo

Verse 13 I saw that wisdom is better than folly, just as light is better than darkness. If we keep digging in more to an issue, then we will get in the backslidden mentality. This verse is great and then he keeps on going and gets himself into trouble.

Verse 18 "For with much wisdom comes much sorrow;    the more knowledge, the more grief." The more we try to figure out ourselves, the worse we will feel and become. Go to God. Pray for His power and strength. Pray for His joy to be our strength. Spend time with Him. Pray for forgiveness and for Him to search our hearts. Get in fellowship with Him. Read His Word and study it until He reveals Himself to you. Obey Him. Don't try to follow your own heart and figure out life.

Verse 31 ...Remember me with favor, O my God. Nehemiah was t perfect, but he did want to follow God's order. He made things right that were wrong. He was a leader.

Verse 30 When the priests and Levites had purified themselves ceremonially, they purified the people, the gates and the wall. Leadership can't help if they themselves have not gone to Jesus for forgiveness. If they are out of fellowship with Jesus then how can they help their people? This is why it's important to have Jesus my leader because people fail me. Jesus doesn't fail me. He is always available and waiting for me. He is my dream come true that completes me and fulfill

Verse 2 The people commended all the men who volunteered to live in Jerusalem. I love God's people that are willing to jump in. We can't do everything, but some things are like giving out water. We should commend people that do that. It isn't easy for everyone to for different reasons.

Verse 39 The people of Israel, including the Levites, are to bring their contributions of grain, new wine and olive oil to the storerooms, where the articles for the sanctuary and for the ministering priests, the gatekeepers and the musicians are also kept. “We will not neglect the house of our God.” Be a cheerful giver.

Verse 19 “Because of your great compassion you did not abandon them in the wilderness. By day the pillar of cloud did not fail to guide them on their path, nor the pillar of fire by night to shine on the way they were to take. God is a forgiving God. He has compassion on His children. He takes care of us.

Verse 10 Nehemiah said, “Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks, and send some to those who have nothing prepared. This day is holy to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.” God was happy to see His people in the Word and ready to obey. We should move forward and not stay crying. Be sorry and then remember God forgave us and forgot the sin. We don't need to dwell on it because we are a new creation.

Verse 3   I said to them, “The gates of Jerusalem are not to be opened until the sun is hot. While the gatekeepers are still on duty, have them shut the doors and bar them. Also appoint residents of Jerusalem as guards, some at their posts and some near their own houses.” I'm in Nehemiah 7 and it spoke on keeping the gates closed until the sun is hot. It reminds me of when some of us have fallen asleep spiritually and we need each other to keep each other burning hot like coa

Verse 9 They were all trying to frighten us, thinking, “Their hands will get too weak for the work, and it will not be completed.” But I prayed, “Now strengthen my hands.” It's important to pray.

Verses 12-13 “We will give it back,” they said. “And we will not demand anything more from them. We will do as you say.” Then I summoned the priests and made the nobles and officials take an oath to do what they had promised.   I also shook out the folds of my robe and said, “In this way may God shake out of their house and possessions anyone who does not keep this promise. So may such a person be shaken out and emptied!” At this the whole assembly said, “Amen,” and praised t

Verse 9 But he prayed to our God and posted a guard day and night to meet this threat. Read your Bible and pray.

This entire chapter should be read slower because it talks about how we need to go to the different gates in our walk with Jesus. All of the gates are pictures to help us. We go to the sheep gate because we go with our Shepherd, Jesus. Then we go to the fish gate and share the Good News with others because we love Jesus so much... We go to the old gate like to the Bible for answers to life etc.

Verse 20   I answered them by saying, “The God of heaven will give us success. We his servants will start rebuilding, but as for you, you have no share in Jerusalem or any claim or historic right to it.” If you are causing problems, then you have no part in this. God's gracious hand is on Nehemiah, so it will go on.

Verse 11 O Lord, let your ear be attentive to the prayer of this your servant and to the prayer of your servants who delight in revering your name. Give your servant success today by granting him favor in the presence of this man." Are we wanting to revere God's name or someone else's? Is it more about respecting people or God? Is it putting others down? Putting others down is not respecting God.

Verse 9 Then Boaz announced to the elders and all the people, "Today you are witnesses that I have bought from Naomi all the property of Elimelech, Kilion and Mahlon. Boaz was a gentleman who understood what godly order is. His life continued to be fruitful because of that.

Verse 10- "The LORD bless you, my daughter," he replied. "This kindness is greater than that which you showed earlier. You have not run after the younger men, whether rich or poor." This reminds me of us sticking to the Word and not going off the path when we hear "new ways of living". We stick to the "old high way". It reminds me of this verse: Jeremiah 6:16 This is what the Lord says: “Stand at the crossroads and look;    ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is
