1 Thessalonians 4 Win Respect

Verse 11-12 Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business and to work with your hands, just as we told you, so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and so that you will not be dependent on anybody.

God wants me to be busy with my hands and that's why He gave me CAF Bottle Caps. I am currently painting batches of the Agape Kids O's. In this life, we do depend on each other meaning we serve each other and sometimes we get paid for that. That's called having a job. The people he was talking about thought that Jesus was returning and they don't have to stay busy in this life working and paying bills anymore.

He was saying to be busy and live a quiet life and not expecting outsiders to pay our way by us just doing nothing. I'm not sure how that worked out for them that expected outsiders to pay their way. Maybe it's somewhat like government assistance for the poor that are taking advantage of the system. Of course everybody outside of our house can be served if we work serving them ie. fast food restaurant worker, at a preschool, cosmetologist, police, librarian etc. So that's not what he means by getting help from outsiders. Work is work.
