Verse 6 "But did not my words and my decrees, which I commanded my servants the prophets, overtake your forefathers? "Then they repented and said, 'The LORD Almighty has done to us what our ways and practices deserve, just as he determined to do.'

I do wish it was that simple, but we need reminded of the Good News a whole lot and our children do and so will their children's children. If we stop then we go backwards. We are all bad and need saved and cleansed the rest of our lives. It is of first importance to share the Good News for a reason!!!
