It is better to be humble and fear God than to boast. This chapter says if He didn't spare His chosen people then why would He spare me? Then it talks about continuing in His kindness or else I may be cut off. One day the nation of Israel will believe that Jesus died for our sins, was buried, and rose. Keep it about that. They need to hear it just as much as we do every day, so we don't stay in a prideful state. All glory goes to God.
