Jonah 1 It Is My Fault

Verse 12 "Pick me up and throw me into the sea," he replied, "and it will become calm. I know that it is my fault that this great storm has come upon you."


It is always best to take responsibility of the wrong. Jonah did the right thing and told them the truth on how he was in sin against God. He disobeyed God.


When someone is in bondage to sin, we need to throw them out of the boat too. Get away from them. They are very dangerous. I'm not sure why Jonah didn't just jump out. I guess he was still not ready to take the initiative fully. Someone had to do it for him.


Now God provides that big fish to swallow him up for three days and 3 nights. H

God uses Jonah's disobedience as a foreshadow of the Good News: died, buried, and rose.


I am not sure he died, but everyone thought he was dead. He got buried away inside the big fish and got spit out, so he was alive. Let's hope you get to be an example of it too and can share your testimony of when Jesus became your Savior and Lord!
