Therefore this is what the Sovereign LORD says: 'Because you people have brought to mind your guilt by your open rebellion, revealing your sins in all that you do, because you have done this, you will be taken captive. -verse 24
Open rebellion is not being ashamed of what we do against God. We make it look normal to sin and we act like it's no big deal. That is horrifying. It means we have gone pretty deep in bondage to sin. It looks like those people will get left behind if we look at it as a far away prophesy. The first ones that got taken captive were the ones east of the Jordan at one time. They were the ones who did not want to go into the Promised Land. They are like the ones who have no time for Jesus, but want to claim Christianity. It's a weird place to be especially knowing the enemy gets them first. It's self inflicting pain, for your children's future, being in that state.
1 Chronicles 5:25-26
King James Version
25 And they transgressed against the God of their fathers, and went a whoring after the gods of the people of the land, whom God destroyed before them.
26 And the God of Israel stirred up the spirit of Pul king of Assyria, and the spirit of Tilgathpilneser king of Assyria, and he carried them away, even the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and the half tribe of Manasseh, and brought them unto Halah, and Habor, and Hara, and to the river Gozan, unto this day.
This just means it is better to be all in. God says he will spit us out of his mouth if we are luke warm.
