On the day you were born your cord was not cut, nor were you washed with water to make you clean, nor were you rubbed with salt or wrapped in cloth. -VERSE 4

They didn't leave the ways of the world. Their heart was with man rather than God. In my Bible, I have a note saying that salt is a killer of bacteria. We are to be salt in this life or what are we good for, but to be thrown away for people to trample on. I mean, they will trample us anyway, but at least we were doing what God said.
