2 Timothy 1 Guard It

Verse 13,14 What you heard from me, keep as the pattern of sound teaching, with faith and love in Christ Jesus jesus. Guard the good deposit that was entrusted to you- guard it with the help of the Holy Spirit who lives in us.

The Good News that Jesus died for our sins, was buried, and rose again on the third day is a big deal. We are to keep it as sound teaching and guard it because we have salvation through it. It's the whole point!!!! Without it we are nothing. If Jesus did not shed his blood for our sins, if He didn't show us that He really was dead, and if He didn't show us that He really did rise again on the third day, then we wouldn't know and if it didn't happen we'd be doomed in this life and after. There is His goodness still in the world all the while wickedness tries to overpower us. We need His grace and mercy.
