Verse 22 the Lord answered, "Listen to them and give them a king." Then Samuel said to the men of Israel, "Everyone go back to his town."

God gives us what we want if we are disobedient. He is a gentleman and won't force us to make Him our King. It won't be all cracked up what we think it will be like though. There is a price to putting our trust in people.
